We want this forum to be an enjoyable experience. The following guidelines are designed to address known issues and keep the site running smoothly. Keep in mind that guidelines may be changed or new guidelines added as new situations arise. When any changes to guidelines are made the new guidelines will be posted to keep everyone informed.

You acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and you are solely responsible for the content that you post on StrictlyWestie. Strictly Westie is not liable for users posts; it does not pre-screen user posts, although Strictly Westie moderators do make every attempt to remove or edit posts that violate the Strictly Westie guidelines.

Forum Guidelines

1. Please treat one another respectfully and post responsibly. Do not engage in direct or implied name calling or attacks on a person's character. Please report abusive behavior to a moderator and please do not attempt to debate such posts. Moderators will remove or edit inappropriate posts as quickly as possible.
2. We are not trying to make the board squeaky-clean rated G but more a PG-13 feel, so please refrain from excess profanity. Not all profanity will be edited out of posts, but some will. We recognize that this guideline is very subjective and it may have to be revisited.
3. Please limit your commercial posts to the Classified section; posting links in messages that promote commercial websites outside the Classified section is discouraged.
4. Please avoid posts that merely provide a link to another site. For example, "Visit www.blah.com". At least provide information about the link and why members should click on it. In some cases mentioning the name of the product or website without a link is tolerated.
5. Please post information about dance events within existing threads in the Dance Events Forum. This will allow dancers to filter posts to their local area and avoid swamping them with posts they don't wish to see.

Moderators

1. Generally, moderators strive to resolve issues in a thoughtful and courteous manner. Usually, members will be notified about an issue and how it was addressed. Moderation issues are NOT to be discussed in the open forum but through private communication with the Moderator.
2. StrictlyWestie reserves the right to remove text, edit, or delete posts without explanation. This will only be done when the posts are in violation of a guideline, or represent a new situation that requires new guidelines. If a new situation arises, the moderators will create a new guideline or change a current guideline for the new situation and take action according to the new or changed guideline.
3. Penalties for abusive behavior may result in deletion of your username, posts, and/or banning your IP addresses.

Ask the Pros

The ASK THE PROs forum is designed to promote a positive, constructive dance dialogue between the West Coast Swing community and the professionals. It should be a safe, relaxed environment to ask questions and receive answers. Only registered Strictly Westie members have access to the ASK THE PROs forum. Simply register for free to gain complete access. A few guidelines to help ensure this forum is successful:

1. Different Pros will have different perspectives to the same topic. We encourage a variety of viewpoints to expand dancers' horizons.
2. The Pros are generously donating time from their busy schedules and they are outnumbered by the members 30 to 1. Please understand that not all questions will be answered.
3. The Pros should be the only source of answers in this forum. Anyone is welcome to start a new topic in the Westie Corner forum if they wish to expound.
4. The forum is designed to promote interaction between the entire community and the Pros. Members please do not monopolize the discussion.

This is the first forum of its kind attempting to join together dancers and pros throughout the country and it will be improved as we gain experience. Your suggestions and patience are appreciated.
